Take the helm of your money.

Drop in your bank and broker statements. Helmsman charts your net worth, keeps the business apart and gets your Self Assessment figures ready.

It never asks for a bank login.

From a folder of CSVs to a clear view.

Five stops, in the order you make them the first time. After that, most months are just the first two.

  1. Export

Start with the files your bank already gives you.

Every bank and broker can export a CSV. Helmsman recognises Monzo, Revolut and Trading 212 from their columns. Any other bank you map once, and it remembers.

    revolut-statement.csvRevolut96 rows

    bank-export.csvAny other bankMapped once
  2. Import

Check every row before it lands.

The preview shows what will come in and what is already there. Import the same file twice and nothing is counted twice.

  3. Tag

    Keep household and business apart.

Tag a row once, or write a rule and every future import tags itself. Try it here: move a row and watch the totals change.

What stays ashore.

Helmsman is built to know as little about you as it can while still being useful.

No ads, no selling.

Helmsman shows no adverts and never sells or shares your data. What you import is used for one thing: showing it back to you.

No tracking in the app.

No analytics, no advertising scripts, nothing reporting what you look at. The only outside calls fetch exchange rates and prices.

Everything in one file.

On Pro, download all your data as a single backup whenever you like, and bring it back into any Helmsman account.

Delete means gone.

Close your account and every transaction, rule and setting is deleted with it.

Simple pricing.

Questions.

Which banks and brokers work?

Monzo, Revolut and Trading 212 are recognised automatically. Any bank that exports a CSV works too: you match its columns once and Helmsman remembers them for next time.

Why CSV files instead of connecting my bank?

It keeps your bank login out of it entirely. Exporting a statement takes a minute, and you decide exactly what Helmsman sees.

Is my data private?

Your data is only ever visible to your own account. The app has no analytics or tracking. You can delete everything at any time, and on Pro download a backup.

Does it work outside the UK?

Accounts in any currency are converted at the European Central Bank's daily rates, so the dashboard and portfolio work anywhere. The tax view follows the UK sole-trader P&L.

Is Helmsman financial advice?

No. It is a bookkeeping helper, not an accountant or an adviser. Its suggestions are simple rules you can read, and they are always labelled as not advice.

What does it cost?

Every account starts with 14 days of Pro, no card needed. After that you can stay on Free (one account, the last three months) or subscribe to Pro for £3 a month or £29 a year. Founding members keep that price for as long as they stay subscribed.

What happens if I stop paying?

Nothing is deleted. You drop to Free: extra accounts and older history are hidden, and the tax view, invoices and backups lock until you subscribe again.

Can I get my data out?

Yes. On Pro, download a full backup, export transactions as CSV, or download the tax year as a spreadsheet.
